WHO IS TELEVISION SKIES?

Formed in 2016 and coming from humble beginnings outside New York City, TELEVISION SKIES are looking to redefine American popular music. TELEVISION SKIES absorb the raw guitar and drum energy from bands like Led Zeppelin, The Who, Arctic Monkeys, Sex Pistols and The White Stripes; channeling it through the dirty underground of the local dive punk scene while blending it seamlessly with wildfire pop hooks drawn from the likes of The 1975 and WALK THE MOON.

Drummer Paul Maczaj and guitarist Ihor Shuhan have always recorded, produced and released their own EPs and albums, shifting from a heavy blues influence on their 2016 debut EP Heart in Hand to progressive rock themes on debut album The Observer (2017) and the refined rock sound of their self-titled album, released later that year. Differences, their latest album (June 2019), served as a rebirth of sorts for Television Skies. The two-piece group expanded not with more people, but with more instruments and new techniques. Shuhan took up playing piano, and the duo began creating indie-pop records that fit nicely in the libraries of fans of Walk the Moon or The 1975.

we all feel a little shitty inside sometimes. we all feel a little dirty, a little grimy, and a little misunderstood by the rest of the world. this is why we're like rats. and just like rats we work together in a community and we support each other and we’re here for one another. we're a family. we also know exactly what we want our future to look like, for ourselves and for each other, and we are the generation to make that a reality. this is why we are also visionaries.
